Life through the filters of conditioning
Depending on where you are born, your country, culture, religion and politics, your
“I’dentity is formed based on the conditioning we receive.
Since birth we are taught by our parents, relatives, neighbors, society, schools,
teachers and programmed by TV, radio, advertising, books, tradition, culture, food,
religion that we are born into… And we naturally believe what we have been told and taught by those who were programmed by their conditioning.
All these teachings and information is stored in our memory, which then becomes the
voice in our head. The mind can only function from what it has observed and
understood. It analyzes every experience and comes to certain concepts, theories and
conclusions. It works by repeating from all the data it has collected. This repetition of
automatic reactions to a stimuli or situation becomes a pattern. These patterns go on
repeating and getting stronger which is what forms our Identity.
In most cases an identity almost mechanically goes on functioning, existing in
accordance to what it knows depending on its conditioning. It goes through the check
boxes of life, living out a conditioned script without really questioning if there is more
to life than what it knows from its individual perspective. Like a heard of sheep following each other as most don’t know any better.
Each Identity relates to another through the filters of their conditioning.
A filter is like wearing tinted glasses. You then see life from a limited perspective
through the filters of past experiences, emotions, judgments etc.
For example..As growing up if you had a bad experience with a dog then that would create a filter of fear of dogs and for the rest of your life you would function from this filter of fear every time you encountered a dog. If your first flight was turbulent or if you grow up vegetarian or a Christian, a muslim / hindu, so on and so forth you would have limiting filters respectively.
These filters become patterns which over time get hard wired in our brain and once
the neural pathways are set it goes on autopilot.
Then you begin to identity these random traits as aspects of yourself.
If you can see through it then these traits automatically fall off as its clearly not who
you are, just a distortion caused by circumstances that eventually turns into a habit which you mistake to be yourself.
